I am starting by playing at 2 levels the $23.50 Rio and the $6 Maui basically just to spice it up a bit and get my feet wet, it’s been a while since i played any sit n go tournaments at all so playing the $6 should give me a feel for it without me losing a great deal if anything. The rio jackpot sit n go is the one i’m going after for now as the jackpot is over $100,000 for winning 6 in a row!

I’ll update tonight or tomorrow on how day 1 went and keep a track of my wins/losses. I’m starting with a $1000 bankroll which should be sufficient to play at these level of buy-ins or at least i hope it is.

So day 1 and i played 5 £23.50 rio sit n go jackpot tournaments with decent success, these are 6 seat games and the top 3 places get paid which is a big plus point for helping keep the bankroll up!

Below is a screen shot of my first day of playing sit n go jackpot tournamnets and i’m pretty pleased with how its gone thus far. No jackpot yet but a good start none the less.

Lets see what tomorrow brings, i’m playing one more tonight but that ones not looking too good!

UPDATE: Finished 3rd in my last tournament of the day which is ok really, 100% record of cashing for day one so I can’t complain!

I was intending on playing the fort knox games as the buyin is higher and the jackpot of $50,000 appealing, i also thought the better players may be at this level and as i much prefer a higher quality of game, fort knox looked the right choice. That said the Rio with a buyin of $23.50 is also looking very appealing, at the time of writing this the jackpot stands at over $100,000 and rising.

For the rest of this week I’ll be watching the tables and keeping notes on the regular players at the jackpot tables, I’ll use this information when i join in but also to help me decide which jackpot to aim for. I am feeling pretty confident and do feel I’m easily good enough to have an excellent shot at it.

The quality of players i’ve seen so far is not a threat, there seems to be 4 or 5 good players and the rest seem to be intent on doubling up on the first hand.

One thing i do like a lot is the fact that finishing top 3 in a 6 seat tournament means you still get paid. Finishing 1st or 2nd 6 times in a row gets a consolation prize of either $300 for Rio and $750 for Fort Knox.

It looks as though i’ll be all set to start next week at some point but am going to try and pick my times, playing for playings sake won’t be happening so you will only find me at the tables when i feel totally fresh and focused on the task at hand.
